Each year, thousands gather to watch the excitement of chuckwagon racing, bronc fanning, and the Snowy River Race.

The Races are held Friday through Sunday every Labor Day weekend at the Bar o f Ranch in Clinton, Arkansas. In addition to the three performances, bands perform after the races and dances are held Friday and Saturday nights. Vendors of western collectibles, crafts, art, saddles and tack are set up throughout the weekend at the Western Trade show. Ozark Mountain trail rides begin on Tuesday and are included as a part of the weekend’s festivities.
Downtown Clinton AR Parade & Cowboy Fish Fry
Each year, the City of Clinton & Clinton A&P Commission host a Parade & Fish Fry inviting the festival participants on an escorted trail ride through historic downtown for a catfish buffet. This traditional ceremony marks the importance of the Chuckwagon heritage to the Clinton community.

The Chuckwagon Races started out as a Labor Day party for a few friends by Dan and Peggy Eoff. Not one to just sit around at a party, Dan came up with the idea of racing chuckwagons to add something to the party. Eight teams competed that year, and the Eoff’s notion of an exciting Labor Day party has mushroomed into the world’s largest chuckwagon race.
An estimated 150 teams compete in five different divisions (Oklahoma Land Rush, Four Up Mules, Buckboard, Big Mules, and Classic) for the title of National Champion. Each year, the National Champions in each division take home silver buckles and share in over $20,000 in prizes that include saddles, jackets, and Chuckwagon Bucks– prize money that can be spent at the Trade Show or with any businesses that advertise in the program.
