Mayor Richard McCormac
Born and raised in Clinton, McCormac’s deep community roots have brought him back home after years of education and career experience elsewhere in the state. A graduate of Clinton schools, he worked in the concrete industry before attending Ouachita Baptist University where he obtained degrees in print journalism and political science. He gained valuable real-world political experience while working with long-time mentor, Little Rock philanthropist Jennings Osborne.
McCormac returned to Clinton in 1996 where he married and made a career locally with his experience working concrete. He served on the board of the Clinton school district for 12 years. His wife Gia teaches at Clinton schools, where their two children also attend.
His strong ties to the community’s committed working class have reinforced his faith in Clinton’s ability to grow and prosper. Serving as mayor, he offers his experience in personnel management and a “get it done” reputation earned over the years. His goals focus on the targeted improvement of Clinton’s infrastructure, streamlined communication to help promote the area’s presence, and a grassroots involvement of local effort and talent to improve the quality of living for everyone.
